Haiti President Michel Martelly, who in his previous career was the singer “Sweet Micky,” returned to the stage Friday for a charity concert with Spanish singer Julio Iglesias in the Dominican Republic.

The concert sought to raise funds for underprivileged children in Haiti; the funds will be donated to the Pink and White Foundation, founded by Martelly and First Lady Sophia Martelly.

The concert was attended by a number of luminaries, including Dominican designer Oscar de la Renta, Venezuelan designer Carolina Herrera, American journalist Barbara Walters and Venezuelan media mogul Gustavo Cisneros.

Martelly and Iglesias sang several duets, including “Corazon” and “To All the Girls I Loved Before.”

“Haiti needs you to succeed,” Iglesias told Martelly. “If there is no progress in Haiti, it will be the same in the Dominican Republic.”
