Grammy-award-winning Jamaican dancehall and reggae artist Sean Paul will be holding his first-ever concert in Haiti on Thursday.
The concert, which will also feature artists such as T-Vice, Kreyol La, Team Lobey and J-Perry, will take place at Haiti’s Parc Historique de la Canne-a-Sucre.
Paul, whose real name is Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques, won the 2004 Grammy for Best Reggae Album with “Dutty Rock.”
His latest album, “Tomahawk Technique,” has been nominated for the Best Reggae Album Grammy in 2013.
While reggae isn’t as universal as music like Kompa in Haiti, it has found widespread popularity, Haitian reggae star Alain Moraille told Caribbean Journal earlier this year.
Paul will arrive Thursday at Haiti’s Port-au-Prince International Airport.
