The Hotel Guanahani & Spa in St Barth has reopened following a series of renovations and refurbishments to the property.

The Guanahani, which officially reopened in mid-November, has been undergoing renovations since 2010 and 2011. It has also added two new “butler suites.”

This year, the focus has been on the renovation of an additional 22 hotel rooms and suites.

The renovation project, which has been led by the team of Washington-based architects David Schwartz and Miami-based Luis Pons D-LAB, has included enlargements of many of the rooms, new furnishings and accessories and updates to the property’s outdoor terraces.

“Travelers are looking for comfort and luxury,” Pons said. “But they are also looking for sophistication and a sense of identity.”

According to the property, the renovations will continue in future years and will extend to the common and social areas.

Hotel Guanahani includes a total of 67 bungalows, with 31 rooms and 36 suites.
