Haiti President Michel Martelly met with a group of non-resident Ambassadors to Haiti during his trip to Havana this week.
Martelly reportedly took time to present his plans for cooperation during his presidential term.
The meetings were attended by Foreign Minister Pierre Richard Casimir, Industry Minister Wilson Laleau, Agriculture Minister Thomas Jacques, Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin and Environment Minister Jean Hilaire Vilmont.
“The situation in Haiti after the two hurricanes and Sandy is a concern,” he told the Ambassadors, also stressing the need for work to eradicate hunger and strengthen the county’s institutions. “But the recovery efforts of the Haitian government are considerable.”
Among the ambassadors that met with Haiti’s president included those of Qatar, India, Benin, Bolivia, Ghana, Iran, Malaysia, Mali, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Turkey, Kuwait and Vietnam.
Martelly departed Cuba on Thursday.
