Haiti and the Pan-American Development Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at providing food aid to the country’s southeastern region.

The agreement comes following two devastating storms, Hurricane Sandy and Tropical Storm Isaac, that hit Haiti this year.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Klaus Eberwein, the assistant director of Haiti’s Fund for Social and Economic Assistance.

PADF has secured a donation of 12,106 metric tonnes of food from Feed My Starving Children, a US-based non-profit.

The food will provide an estimated 272,160 meals for families in Haiti’s Southeast.

Last month, PADF coordinated efforts with partners in Haiti to bring aid to some of the areas hit hardest by Sandy.
