Gimistory, the Cayman Islands International Storytelling Festival, will bring a blend of comedy, song and tales to the territory for the 15th straight year later this month.
The festival, which lasts from Nov. 24 to Dec. 1, visits every district in the Cayman Islands, including Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.
“Gimistory is such a unique cultural experience,” said Kaitlyn Elphinstone, marketing officer for Gimistory. “You’ll see storytellers from all over the world tucked into stunning natural backdrops, you’ll be surrounded by intoxicating smells of local fry fish and frittas cooked on traditional cabooses and you won’t have to pay a penny.”
This year’s festival will include more than a dozen performers from all over the world, including David Beareaux, Blacksage and Amina Blackwood-Meeks.
For 2012, four new tellers will also join the show, including Valeska Borden and Lady Rabia from Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, respectively, along with the Mighty Gabby from Barbados and Roy Bookbinder from Tampa, Fla.
On Nov. 30, the festival will feature a Young at Arts night on Nov. 30 in Camana Bay’s Gardenia Court
