Dominican Republic First Lady Candida Montilla de Medina has returned to the country following a four-day official visit to Taiwan.
Medina, who described her trip as “very fruitful,” said she had “identified a number of projects that could be launched through the Office of the First Lady,” in areas like education and health.
The trip included a 40-minute meeting with Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou, who reportedly confirmed that Taiwan would be strengthening its cooperation with the Dominican Republic in areas like education, culture and agriculture.
She was received on her return home by Taiwanese Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Tomas Ping-Fu Hou.
