Guyana’s government is continuing the rollout of solar panels to regions across the country.
The latest drive has provided solar panels to outlying schools and health posts in four regions across Guyana.
The panels are 165-watt systems, which include a battery, inverter and charger control.
The plan, which is part of Guyana’s wider Low Carbon Development Strategy, is targeting citizens, particularly those in Amerindian villages that are too far from the electrical grid to receive power through traditional means.
This weekend, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development Collin Croal distributed five panels to schools in Guyana’s Region 2.
