Grenada Prime Minister Tillman Thomas is heading to the United Arab Emirates for an eight-day official visit, his office announced.

Thomas, who departs Thursday evening, will attend the World Energy Forum, and engage in a series of bilateral discussions on issues “of interest to Grenada and the UAE,” his office said.

The visit is at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has led the country since 2004.

Thomas is being joined by a delegation including Tourism Minister Dr George Vincent, Ambassador William Joseph, Ambassador Michael Fisher, Counselor George McLeish and the Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association’s Andre Sherman.

He will stop in New York to meet with members of the Grenadian diaspora on his way home.

Finance Minister Nazim Burke is acting Prime Minister in his absence.
