Jamaica’s Dane Richards scored two goals in the last 12 minutes to lead the Reggae Boyz over Antigua’s Benna Boys in Kingston, 4-1.

While the United States won Group A with a 3-1 victory over Guatemala, Jamaica finished second with 10 points.

Jamaica is now the only Caribbean team remaining in World Cup qualifying, after Guatemala, which also had 10 points, was eliminated thanks to a three-goal advantage for Jamaica.

Jamaica remains in the “hexagonal” round of qualifying.

Demar Phillips got things going for Jamaica with a goal in the 17th minute, followed by an equalizer from Antigua’s Nyron Nosworthy one minute later.

But it was Richards who put the Boyz ahead, putting in two within 10 minutes, the 78th and the 88th, to bring Jamaica the win and the tiebreaker over Guatemala.

Tamarley Thomas received a yellow card for Antigua.
