St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas Heads to Tokyo

St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas is in Tokyo this week to attend meetings of the Commonwealth Ministers of Finance and the International Monetary Fund and World Bank.

The meetings are of the Board of Governors of the IMF and the World Bank, which gather once a year to discuss the two institutions’ work.

Douglas is being accompanied by Deputy Financial Secretary Sylvia Manning, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sustainable Development Hillary Hazel and Beverly Knight, senior assistant secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Laurie Lawrence, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance in the Nevis Island Administration is also joining the delegation on the trip to Japan.

The last such meetings held outside of the United States were in Istanbul in 2009.
