Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe is “deploring” the deadly attack this week on the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Such attacks “only undermine the efforts of a climate of peace in the world,” Lamothe said.

Haiti’s PM said he sent his “sincere condolences” to US President Barack Obama and the American people on behalf of Haiti’s government and people.

He said he retained a “special thought” for the relatives and friends of the victims.

Lamothe also said that he regretted that the attack, which occurred on Sept. 11, recalled the terrorist attacks in New York City on the same date 11 years ago.
