Guyana Falls to El Salvador, 3-2

Guyana fell to El Salvador in San Salvador Tuesday, 3-2, in an up-and-down game of World Cup qualifying.

It was El Salvador’s Rafael Burgos that put his country ahead with a goal in the 76th minute of play.

Gregory Richardson put Guyana out to an early lead with a goal in the first minute of play, until El Salvador’s Osael Romero responded in the 12th minute, and Jaime Alas followed with a goal in the 51st minute.

Guyana’s Chris Nurse evened the score in the 63rd minute, and the score remained tied until Burgos put it home.

Guyana and El Salvador played to a draw last Friday in Georgetown.

El Salvador’s Darwin Ceren received a yellow card in the match.
