The Black Fly Lodge on the Bahamian island of Great Abaco has joined the Expedition Properties Portfolio of Guy Harvey Outpost Resorts.

The bonefishing lodge is owned and operated by Vaughn Cochran, the founder of fishing company Blackfly.

“The Abacos have a world-class reputation for trophy bonefish and permit,” said Outpost President Mark Ellert. “We’re excited to have Black Fly as our inaugural bonefishing lodge in the Expedition portfolio.”

Guy Harvey, which is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, operates a number of properties under the Guy Harvey Outpost name. The company recently opened an outpost in St Pete Beach in western Florida.

The company opened its first Expedition Properties resort, Abaco’s Green Turtle Club. The hotels focus on beach, boating, fishing and diving programmes.

Black Fly Lodge will be featured at the Schooner Bay community in Abaco, which is set for completion in March 2013.

The Schooner Bay project is being undertaken by Lindroth Development Company.
