Guyana has named a list of three international members of a commission of inquiry that will investigate the shootings of three people in the area of Linden in July, according to a statement from Guyana President Donald Ramotar.

Jamaica’s Justice Lensley Wolfe and KD Knight and Trinidad and Tobago’s Dana Seetahal will join local Guyanese commissioners in probing the shootings.

The deaths came after protests over announced tariff increases on electricity.

The international commissioners will be arriving in Guyana on Sept. 5. The commission will meet and inform the Guyanese public on Thursday and leave the following day.
