Jamaica’s Nickel Ashmeade topped American Tyson Gay in the 200m in Sunday’s Birmingham Diamond League meet with a time of 20.12 seconds.

Gay finished second in 20.21, while fellow American Spearmon Wallace finished third in 20.23.

The meet came three days after Usain Bolt took home the top spot in the 200m in Lausanne. Bolt did not compete in Birmingham.

On the women’s side, Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the gold medalist in the 100m in London, finished second to American Carmelita Jeter, who finished in a meet-record 10.81 seconds. Fraser-Pryce finished in 10.90.

That was a reversal of their fortunes in London, when Jeter took home the silver.

The Dominican Republic’s Luguelin Santos finished second in the men’s 400, which was without Grenadian gold medalist Kirani James, who has reportedly chosen to focus on school and not compete for the rest of the season.

Jamaica’s Kimberly Williams finished second in the women’s triple jump, with a best of 14.37.
