Haiti’s Lamothe Makes New Appointments

Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe has announced the appointments of three new officials.

Headlining the new appointees is Thierry Mayard-Paul, who was replaced as Interior Minister during a cabinet shake-up announced on Monday. Mayard-Paul has been named as a private advisor to Haiti President Michel Martelly.

Mayard-Paul’s position comes with ministerial rank, according a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.

Also joining the government are Kenn Duval, who has been named Director-General of the Ministry of Environment, along with Georges Andy Rene, who will be assuming the position of Managing Director of Haiti’s Investment Facilitation Centre.

The appointments were made in an order dated Aug. 9, according to Lamothe’s office.
