The Dominican Republic was shaken by its second earthquake in as many days Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
A 4.4-Magnitude quake rocked the area near Samana on the country’s northeastern coast. That came one day after a 4.3-Magnitude quake near Bonao on Saturday.
The quake occurred at approximately 5:51 PM local time. Its epicentre was 30 kilometres southeast of Nagua and 34 kilometres west of Samana.
That is approximately 51 miles north-northeast of the capital, where there were numerous reports of shaking.
It was also reportedly felt as far away as San Francisco de Macoris.
There were not yet reports of any damage or injuries.
