The Dominican Republic was lightly shaken by a 4.3-Magnitude earthquake this morning near the city of Bonao, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake came almost a month after a 5.1-Magnitude earthquake near the country’s border with Haiti.

It occurred at 2:40AM local time.

The epicentre was nine kilometres east-southeast of Bonao, and 25 kilometres soutwaset of Cotui.

That is about 61 kilometres northwest of Santo Domingo.

There were reports of light to moderate shaking across the centre of the country, including some reports in the capital.
