Nigeria President Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is heading to Trinidad and Tobago for an official visit beginning Tuesday.

Jonathan, who will be joined by his wife, Dame Patience Faka Jonathan, will be in the twin-island republic until Thursday.

His itinerary will include bilateral talks with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, a state banquet hosted by Trinidad President George Maxwell Richards and a separate courtesy call with Richards.

Jonathan took office in February 2010 after serving for three years as the country’s Vice President.

Trinidad and Nigeria are both members of the Commonwealth.
