Haiti’s Environmental Monitoring Corps (CSE) received a boost last week with the distribution of 21 Polaris ATV vehicles.

Environment Minister Joseph Ronald Toussaint said his office was “committed” to improving Haiti’s environmental system.

The environment is one of five major stated priorities for Haiti President Michel Martelly, along with employment, education, the Rule of Law and energy. (All begin with the letter “E” in French).

“In the environmental point of view, our country is sick, very sick, and we are obligated to restore its health,” Martelly said.

Haiti’s President also distributed 50 fifty flashlights and uniforms to the SSC during the event at the National Palace.
