Haiti recently signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations World Tourism Organization, according to the country’s Ministry of Tourism.

The agreement was announced by Haiti Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin following a meeting with the UNWTO’s Johanne Thebaud.

It is the latest tourism agreement signed by Haiti of late, following a pact between the governments of Haiti and Mexico signed in Mexico City earlier this month.

The agreement covers several areas aimed at improving tourism development in Haiti, according to Villedrouin.

For more information on Haiti’s quest to rebuild itself as an international tourism destination, see Caribbean Journal’s recent interview with Minister Villedrouin.
