The St Lucia National Trust is making a push to encourage the development of a green economy in the country.
Last week, the trust launched the 4th Annnual St Lucia National Trust Youth Forum YEF, which looks to empower youths to become advocates for environment and heritage conservation.
The programme will include 100 students from across St Lucia this year.
This year’s initiative is being held under a theme of “Green Economy, Does It Include You?”
It is being conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology; the Caribbean Student Environmental Alliance and the Caribbean Sea, among others.
Funding is coming from partners including Digicel, Subway St Lucia and the St Lucia Electricity Services, among others.
