The United Kingdom’s Prince Charles met Thursday with Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe in London during the latter’s official visit to the country.

The two discussed Haiti’s reforestation efforts and the reconstruction plan of the historic centre of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, which was devastated in the 2010 quake.

Haiti is in the midst of a reforestation drive that aims to have planted two million new seedlings in the country by September.

Prince Charles, whose foundation is involved in the Port-au-Prince operation, pledged to continue his commitment to Haiti and its government.

Lamothe said the meeting was “fruitful,” according to a statement, and invited Prince Charles to visit Haiti.

The Prime Minister’s agenda also included a meeting with United Kingdom Trade & Investment on potential investment opportunities for Haiti.
