Venezuelan Ambassador to Grenada Carlos Perez says his government is satisfied with the progress of projects it is currently funding in Grenada.
The three ongoing projects, which include a multi-purpose complex at Morne Tout in South St George’s, the pavilion at the Roy St John Recreation Ground in Tanteen and the St George’s Market Square, were all toured by Perez on a visit Tuesday.
“The work is advancing quickly,” Perez said at the Morne Toute site, where he met with works, including lead consultant Leslie Barry and project manager Martin Marryshow.
Perez was joined on the tour by Minister Glynis Roberts, who recently was reassigned to the Environment and Foreign Trade portfolios following a cabinet reshuffle.
The pavilion at Tanteen
The $407,407 Morne Tout project is scheduled to open by the end of 2012.
According to Perez, a high-level Venezuelan delegation, which could include Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro, could visit Grenada for the formal handing-over ceremonies.
Venezuela is currently providing $6.11 million for a number of projects across Grenada.
Those include the construction of a playing field with a pavilion in Snell Hall, St Patrick; the rehabilitation of the Ford Bridge in St Andrew and the upgrading of the facilities at the St George’s General Hospital.
