By the Caribbean Journal staff

Haiti’s national soccer team fell to Harvard College’s squad Sunday on a goal in the 86th minute.

The game, which was the second of a two-match charity series that began with a similar 1-0 defeat by Dartmouth, helped benefit work by Partners in Health in Haiti.

Harvard’s Hiroki Kobayashi scored the winning goal.

Haiti’s best chance came in the second half, when Haiti’s Jean Paulin sent one over the crossbar.

Midfielder Monuma Constant led Haiti with four shots. Constant, Paulin, and Guerrier had shots on goal.

Haiti goalie Donnont Garry saved two of three shots.

More than 1,200 fans turned out at Harvard Stadium.
