Barbados PM Heading to Washington for Meetings with Lagarde, Moreno, Zoellick

Barbados Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is set to begin a five-day visit to Washington, DC this weekend.

The vist will be highlighted by “brief” courtesy calls on Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno, outgoing World Bank President Robert Zoellick and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.

Stuart will also pay a visit to Albert Ramdin, acting secretary general of the OAS.

On Monday, Stuart will begin a series of speaking engagements, starting with an address to the Centre for Strategic and International Challenges focusing on the “Challenges of Caribbean Economics and Society in a Turbulent World.”

Stuart will also meet with Barbadians living in the diaspora in the Washington area, and will hold a town hall meeting Sunday at the Bishop John T Walker National Learning Centre at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.

Stuart will return to Barbados on Thursday.
