Panama President Martinelli Heads to Nicaragua for Talks With Ortega

Panama President Ricardo Martinelli departs today for Managua for an official visit with Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega.

The visit will include bilateral talks on several issues, including future investment between the two countries and the promotion of trade.

Martinelli is joined by a Panamanian delegation including Foreign Minister Roberto Henriquez, Agricultural Development Minister Oscar Osorio and Vice Foreign Minister Francisco Alvarez de Soto.

The Ministers will each hold meetings with their Nicaraguan counterparts.

Panama has a free trade agreement with Nicaragua, one of five it has signed with Central American countries aimed at increasing the exchange of goods and services.
