Prince Harry participated in several military exercises Wednesday with members of the Jamaica Defence Force at the Up Park Camp base.

The Prince is in Jamaica as part of celebrations marking the Diamond Jubilee of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Prince Harry, who is a captain in the Army Air Corps, spent 20 minutes in live firearm practice at the facility’s range, and took part in a shooting exercise at the camp’s Multi-Purpose Training Facility.

Before taking part, Prince Harry commissioned a Rappel and Fast Rope Tower and unveiled a plaque at the tower’s entrance. The tower was built with technical assistance from the Canadian government.

Canadian High Commissioner to Jamaica Stephen Hallihan said the tower was a symbol of the “incredible relationship that exists between Canada and Jamaica in the defensive security sector.”

The Prince left the camp co-piloting a helicopter to Falmouth.
