British Virgin Islands Names New Chairman of Public Service Commission

By the Caribbean Journal staff

British Virgin Islands Governor Boyd McCleary has appointed Magdaline Rhymer as a member and Chairman of the Public Service Commission for a term of one year.

The Governor was acting under his constitutional duties, which require the governor to choose the group’s chairman after consultation with the Premier.

Rhymer succeeds Antoinette Skelton, who had served as the PSC’s chairman since 2006.

The Public Service Commission advises the Governor on appointments to the public service, and on promotions and disciplinary matters in the service.
