Haitian President Martelly to Visit Bahamas

Haitian President Michel Martelly is set to arrive in Nassau tonight following his trip to Panama and Venezuela.

The President, who signed a series of cooperation agreements in the two countries, will meet with members of the Haitian community in the Bahamas and then pay a courtesy call to Governor-General Sir Arthur Foulkes tomorrow.

As part of the visit, Haitian Foreign Minister Laurent Lamothe will meet with his Bahamian counterpart, Brent Symonette, along with Bahamian National Security Minister Tommy Turnquest.

Martelly will also visit with Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham, Opposition Leader Perry Christie and Tourism Minister Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace before departing Wednesday afternoon.
