OECS Meeting Begins in St Lucia

The 54th Meeting of the OECS Authority of Heads of Government began today in St Lucia, chaired by the country’s new Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony.

Heads of Government from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands, Grenada, Montserrat, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and St Kitts and Nevis are attending the meeting, which will focus on the OECS Development Strategy and the OECS Economic Union Treaty Implementation.

The talks will also look at financing of the OECS Secretariat and Economic Union, the organization’s relationship with the European Union and OECS maritime governance.

The meeting follows high-level talks in Grenada this weekend between the UK and the Caribbean.
