The Grenadian government has begun meetings with a number of national organizations aimed at providing updates on the progress of national developments.

Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has led the discussions with a variety of groups, including the Inter Agency Group of Development Organisations and members of the religious community.

“We have always held the view that the NGO community and our religious leaders are critical to the governance process,” Thomas said this weekend. “I know the contribution you have been making to the social stability of our society and we must find ways to re-engage if we are to succeed in transforming our country.”

Thomas spoke to the groups on a number of events, including the death of Oscar Bartholomew and the ongoing efforts to resolve the industrial impasse at Grenada Breweries Limited.

The religious leaders told the Prime Minister they supported his position against casino gambling in Grenada.

Thomas was accompanied by Sen. Glen Noel, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Ministry.
