St Kitts and Nevis Police Commissioner CG Walwyn recently held a meeting with his newly-appointed counterpart in the US Virgin Islands, Henry White, Jr.

“In my discussions with the new USVI commissioner, we decided that, starting in February, we will institute a tactical training programme,” he said.

Walwyn, who was born in St Kitts, grew up in St Croix and was a pre-cadet for the US Virgin Islands police force.

The discussions led to an agreement for an exchange programme between the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Walwyn has been spearheading a renewed anti-crime fight in St Kitts and Nevis, and said 2012 will mark the continuation of that strategy.
