British Virgin Islands Appoints Jamaican as New Attorney General

The British Virgin Islands has appointed Dr Christopher Phillip Malcolm as Attorney General, the government announced.

Malcolm, a native of Jamaica, is admitted to practice in Jamaica, the Virgin Islands, Dominica and St Lucia.

He succeeds Baba Aziz, Principal Crown Counsel, who had been appointed Acting Attorney General in 2010.

Malcolm holds a PhD from the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University, London, and an LLM from the University of the West Indies, where he obtained his LLB as well.
