Taiwan “Committed” to Providing New Technology for St Kitts and Nevis

The recent solar project implemented at Government Headquarters in St Kitts signifies the commitment of the Taiwanese government to “everlasting friendship” with the twin-island federation and to provide it with new technology wherever possible, according to Ambassador Miguel Tsao.

The project follows a visit by St Kitts and Nevis PM Denzil Douglas to Taiwan in March.

“It reflects and demonstrates the importance of their visit today during this ceremony,” said Tsao. “Certainly fruit has been borne of their tangible visit to my country.”

Tsao said the programme was consistent with the objective of the government to achieve 60 percent of energy generation from green energy by 2015.

The ambassador said the panels would provide enough to power all lighting and most office machines in the complex, with the panels set to last for 25 years.
