The Jamaican government and the Ministry of Tourism plan to embark on several new areas of products and experiences, including a focus on health and sports tourism and casino gaming, according to Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett.

The Minister said he recently met with a health tourism group, which could bring a new dimension to health technology and information gathering.

“This particular team will ensure that every person who comes to Jamaica will be able to access not only the hospital facilities that are in Jamaica but the facilities that are nearby,” he said. “We will be setting up a special team of paramedics who will be able to give guidance and support.”

Bartlett recently opened the newest of several health tourism clinics that were inaugurated, in Falmouth.
