Caribbean Airlines Adds New Aircraft to Grenada Route

By the Caribbean Journal staff

Caribbean Airlines has added a new ATR turbo aircraft to its Grenada route, with the first flight last week from Port of Spain.

The 68-seater is part of a new fleet of planes introduced by the company.

It’s a development that consolidates what Grenadian Aviation Minister Peter David said was a commitment to improved service to Grenada.

“Caribbean Airlines continues to prove its importance to our tourism industry,” David said. “The airline recently commenced flights between Grenada and Canada and now they have graced us with a brand new aircraft.”

“We cannot underestimate their importance to tourism,” he said.

Caribbean Airlines could soon introduce the route to Barbados, according to Captain Rafael Rose, who flew the first ATR fleet to Grenada.

The fleet will also service the route to Caracas, he said.
