Public sector transformation is a priority for the Antiguan government, which has been working to implement a series of initiatives toward that end.
“We have inherited a public service architecture that is not well-suited for the fast-paced environment in which business is conducted,” said Finance Minister Harold Lovell. “It is a structure which must be remodeled.”
Lovell said the government had made strides in improving operational efficiency within the public sector, and that each ministry had begun reviewing its processes or already reengineered its business processes.
The OAS is currently working with the government to review the legislative framework governing the public service.
