The restoration project on Nassau’s Montagu Beach has begun, in a project sponsored by Kerzner International.

The work consists of the construction of groins that will be backfilled with sand; the restored beach will extend along the shoreline from Fort Montagu in the north to the concrete dock in the south.

The project, dubbed the Montagu Foreshore Redevelopment Project, was officially launched at the end of September.

The project includes beach replenishment, which means an expansion of the beach of more than two acres.
