Since the start of Trinidad’s State of Emergency, there have been 7,269 arrests and $236 million in drugs seized, according to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Bissessar made the revelations during a statement about an alleged assassination attempt against her and members of the government that police reportedly foiled.
The $236 million total represents drugs seized or destroyed, along with 13,183 rounds of ammunition.
