Trinidad has launched the third phase of its Colour Me Orange programme, an initiative that will employ 2,000 mostly disadvantaged youth over a three month period to rehabilitate government rental communities.

The youths will carry out the rehabilitation and refurbishment of Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation rental communities, and help the backlog of repairs that have been outstanding in rental properties across the country, according to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

The Prime Minister said the youths could be a “powerful force” in the development of the country.
