A “very large player” in information and communication technology will be coming soon to Jamaica, according to Ambassador Patrick Casserly, special envoy with responsibility for ICT in the country’s Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce.
Casserly was speaking to the Jamaica Exporters’ Association Breakfast Forum earlier this week, saying the country has the potential to attract huge investment in ICT to grow the economy — if Jamaica can renew a focus on education and training.
“One of the challenges, as we go forward, is ensuring that our population is properly educated and properly aligned so that we can answer clearly, but also give proper content,” he said.
