Participants from St Kitts and Nevis, Belize, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago are meeting in Guyana this week as part of a four-day sub-regional meeting on gangs and gang violence in the Caribbean.

CARICOM has organized a series of sub-regional consultations titled Youth Gangs and Violence: partnering for prevention and social development.

Among those attending are new Commissioner of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force, CG Walwyn, who has prioritized fighting crime and gang violence in St Kitts and Nevis.

The plan was jointly developed by CARICOM and the UN Office for Drugs and Crime.
