Haitians gathered to protest the UN’s peacekeeping mission in Haiti after allegations that a contingent from Uruguay sexually assaulted a young man. The scandal has seen a formal apology by Uruguay’s president to Haiti, along with an announcement by the UN that it had sent a senior team to Haiti to enforce the global body’s misconduct policy.
