The Bahamas will host a UNESCO conference on the impact of climate change next week in Nassau.

The three-day meeting will look at UNESCO’s objectives on climate change education for sustainable development, along with discussing a recommendation from the International Seminar on Climate Change Education.

“We are honoured that UNESCO has seen fit to host this conference here, which is expected to attract nearly 100 international delegates,” said Elma Garraway, permanent secretary at the Bahamas’ Ministry of Education.

Five heads of state are expected to attend, including Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham, along with actor Forrest Whitaker.
