Trinidad, China Sign $6.2M Agreement

Trinidad and China signed a $6.2 million agreement Tuesday, the latest in a series of economic and cooperation agreements between China and Caribbean countries at the China-Caribbean forum in Port of Spain.

Trinidad Foreign Minister Dr Surujrattan Rambachan signed on behalf of Trinidad, while China’s Wang Chao, vice minister of commerce, signed on behalf of his country.

At the forum, China announced it would be loaning a total of $1 billion to the Caribbean to spur investment and development.
