Douglas: OECS Will Join CCJ

By the Caribbean Journal staff

St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Denzil Douglas said the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States are in full support of the Caribbean Court of Justice, and will accede to the court as a unit once some issues are clarified.

“It represents a needed and crucial break with our colonial past, as we continue our developmental processes as independent countries and people of the Caribbean Community,” Douglas said. “Let there be no doubt that the CCJ will stand the test of time as an institution.”

Douglas said the OECS had sought legal advice on certain technical issues needing clarification that, once resolved, will mean full accession to the CCJ.
