Uruguayan Leader Issues Haiti an Apology
Uruguayan President Jose Mujica has issued an apology to Haiti for the alleged assault of a young man by UN peacekeepers from his country. Mujica called the alleged conduct “criminal and embarrassing, and said he was also apologising on behalf of his country’s armed services.
