The Bahamas and China will sign an Economic Technical Cooperation Agreement during the visit of China’s Wang Qishan to the country next week.

Wang is the vice premier of China’s State Council.

The two countries established diplomatic relations in May 1997, and both countries have entered into a series of arrangements from technical cooperation to education.

The Bahamas received its new $30 million National Stadium as a gift from China.

Wang will leave the country on Sep. 11 to attend the third Caribbean-China Economic and Trade Forum set for Sep. 12-13 in Port of Spain.
